Job Summary:

The Jack Daniel’s Market Specialist serves as a dedicated Jack Daniel’s Family of Brands resource in the assigned territory and focus market.  Through the direction of the Brown Forman Jack Daniel’s Family of Brands Market Manager, the Jack Daniel’s Market Specialist is held accountable for growing distribution, increasing depletions, and establishing effective pull-through programming within key on and off premise accounts. He/she will be held accountable for brand education to trade and consumers and creating brand advocacy for the Jack Daniel’s Family of Brands (JDFOB).

Primary Responsibilities/Activities:

Key Account Development (60%)

  • Establish positive customer rapport in general market and multicultural assigned accounts
  • Establish positive working relationships with Breakthru Beverage counterparts, Brown Forman (BF) Jack Daniel’s Family of Brands Market Manager, Brown Forman On and Off Premise Managers and Greenhouse Agency Whiskey Brand Champions
  • Increase points of distribution and velocity within assigned accounts
  • Ensure JDFOBs are featured in the assigned accounts: Back bar visibility, menu placements, drink features, Point of Sale merchandising, floor display and shelf set. Ensure flawless execution and maximum effectiveness of market activities
  • Collaborate with BF JDFOB Manager and develop local pull through programming to meet customers’ need while aligning with brand strategies
  • Champion the effort in winning at the point of purchase, by building lasting trade relationships and working unusual hours including late nights and weekends
  • Brand Responsibilities:
    • 80% Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire, Gentleman Jack, Jack Single Barrel Family of Brands, Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select
    • 20% All other Brown Forman Brands

Events, Education, Training (30%)

  • Build brand advocacy with on and off premise key stakeholders
  • Conduct consumer trainings, tastings, dinners, events
  • Provide waitstaff trainings, tastings, dinners, mixology education
  • Lead as BF JDFOB’s expert and act as resource within Breakthru Beverage
  • Manage promotions and activation at key Jack Daniel’s FOB events

Planning and Evaluation (10%)

  • Create customer focused win-win initiatives that enhance BF and customer profitability
  • Monitor JDFOB brand performance with the expectation of exceeding market segment trends
  • Provide weekly market email recaps to key Breakthru and BF local teams
  • Provide monthly and tertile power point recaps to JDFOB Market Manager and Greenhouse Manager

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Entrepreneurial minded
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and develop effective working relationships with all members of extended sales and brand teams
  • Resourceful and understands how to get things done by leveraging opportunities against multiple resources
  • Has sound financial skills and experience managing a budget
  • Willingness to work unconventional hours (late nights and weekends)
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships within accounts, communities and organizations
  • Ability to travel out of state

Position Financials (Annual):

Base Salary: $ 47,000 – $ 52,000
Bonus Opportunity: $ 10,000
Auto Allowance: $ 6,600
Communication Allowance: $ 2,400
